Five Champions honored for leadership in mental health and addiction treatment will be recognized at NCAD '12

2012 Behavioral Healthcare Champions
Behavioral Healthcare, the professional journal serving the executive, clinical, and operating leadership of mental health and substance abuse centers nationwide, is pleased to announce its selection of five 2012 Behavioral Healthcare Champions.

“These individuals, together with the people and organizations that they lead, truly represent the outstanding work that thousands of behavioral heath professionals and organizations are performing across the country. Every day, these executives and their colleagues collaborate to deliver life-changing therapy, services, and support to Americans who suffer from mental health and substance abuse disorders," says Dennis Grantham, Editor-in-Chief of Behavioral Healthcare magazine.

"Make no mistake about it: These Champions are outstanding business people and leaders; individuals who would stand out in any organization based on their passion, talent, and business acumen.  The fact that they put their remarkable financial, organizational, and leadership talents to work in support of those who serve some of the most stigmatized and marginalized people in our society speaks volumes for who they are as people. Their work touches thousands--from children to the elderly, in schools, workplaces, and even jails and prisons--and enriches all of us."

The 2012 Behavioral Healthcare Champions, are:
  • Mary Ruiz, CEO, Manatee Glens, Bradenton, Florida
  • Danis "Dan" Russell, CEO, Genesee County Community Mental Health, Flint, Michigan
  • Judy Crane, CEO, The Refuge - A Healing Place, Oclawaha, Florida
  • Phil Eaton, CEO, Rosecrance, Rockford, Illinois
  • Holly McCravey, Executive Director, Antelope Valley Rehabilitation Centers, Los Angeles County, California

The 2012 Champions were selected by the editorial team of Behavioral Healthcare magazine from among more than 50 industry leaders who were nominated by their peers. They are affiliated with many leading industry organizations, including The National Council, The National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP), Mental Health Corporations of America (MHCA), NIATx, and more.

Each of the 2012 Champions will be recognized with an award on Sunday, September 30 at a plenary session of the National Conference on Addiction Disorders (NCAD) and the co-located Behavioral Healthcare Leadership Summit, which will be held at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando, Florida.
